Trackpirate Dyno Shoot Out

Trackpirate Dyno Shoot Out

Do you Even Tune Bro?

Photos and Text: Reinis Babrovskis

What makes a great man…? A great car with power, lots of it…
Trackpirate Dyno Shoot Out was hosted at the local tuning company East Coast Customs in Lisburn, Northern Ireland on Saturday 25th October. In the battle for the greatness around 30 FWD, RWD and 4WD cars got on the dyno stand to check how many horses were trapped under their bonnets.
Even though this wasn't your typical ‘show and shine’ event the owners couldn’t resist a bit of rapid detailer and some tire slick to make sure their cars look immaculate.

The car park at ECC was packed with some crazy machinery including Benji's rotary track/road build Mazda RX-7 on Work Meisters.
It is of no surprise that the attention of many was stolen by Lee’s mental Nissan Skyline GT-R R32. The overall design simplicity along with the beautiful wheel choice is a great recipe for a tasty motor.
The atmosphere was very chilled throughout the day and the funky tunes played by the DJ meant everybody kept their feet moving.
One of the most talked about car detailing product companies currently - 50.cal detailing were present for the day with a wide range of their products on sale.
After all the small talk it was time to put the cars to the test. In 4wd category Lee’s R32 GT-R produced impressive 667hp and was the most powerful motor of the day. It was followed by the spectacular Evo VI of Daniel with 630, and Shane's Evo 9 with 521.

Black Audi RS4 certainly provided some eargasmic noise from that V8 under the bonnet, and pumped out a respectable figure of 385hp.
Matthew's Scooby STI achieved 311 ponies, while Andrew's UK spec Scooby 2000 managed to squeeze 240.
Ryan's Evo 9 split up both of the scoobies with 308bhp.
FWD class victory was taken by Colin's DC5 pumping out amazing and very impressive 351bhp, followed by Edition 30 VW Golf with 330 and Ford Focus RS with 326.
In 4th Sean's bright orange Vectra VXR with 305bhp.
Barry's ST produced 261hp from the 2.5 Duratec engine.
Ste's EP3 K20 came up with 240hp on the run.
The forever clean FN2 of Ryan was now sitting on a respectable 230hp after the intake/exhaust upgrades he done recently.
Ian's VTI was 160.
Rachel's 1.3L Swift showed up 105hp demonstrating why these cars are so popular amongst the amateur rally drivers.
RWD Class was dominated by the BMW M3 of Steven and Marty producing 334 and 318. Third place went to Artoir's recently acquired JDM Chaser Tourer V with 298hp.
It was a very pleasant event with great atmosphere and impressive machinery. Keep an eye out on the Trackpirate page for future events.
