Craigantlet Hill Climb 2015
Push the Limits
Text and Photos: Reinis BabrovskisOn Saturday the 2nd of May, the Craigantlet hill was overrun by many brave men who despite the horrific weather conditions decided it was in fact a great day to go out and play. It takes a certain set of b#lls and insanity for one to jump into a race car and push it to the limits. Any sort of motorsport racing is dangerous, but hill climb more so, due to the lack of a co-driver and pace notes. Add rain factor to it and suddenly it becomes one of the toughest motorsport challenges out there.
Tragically we recently lost a true hill climb legend..., so I’d like to dedicate this article to Simon and all the drivers that keep on racing, entertaining and being heroes.

Necessity is the mother of all invention. When the human race has found itself in a tricky predicament, man has used is inbuilt ingenuity to overcome all hindrances in his path. Man was cold. He invented fire. Man was hungry. He hunted bison. And probably cooked it on his new fire.

VW Karmann Ghia
VW Karmann Ghia
Karma What?
Text and photos: Reinis Babrovskis
If there was a car that really made an impression in Northern Ireland’s car scene in 2014 it certainly has to be Matt’s stunning 1972 VW Karmann Ghia. When the car made its debut entrance at the Loughgall Festival of Motorsport show there wasn’t a person left unimpressed. A huge crowd gathered round the impressive machine, including me. I remember somebody amongst the crowd asking “Is that a Porsche? No, it’s an Aston! - somebody answered”. There are not too many Karmann Ghias on these shores as you can imagine so unless you were born in the 50’s or heavily into the VW scene it is not a shame to admit you haven’t heard of this car before.
