What gives you the goosebumps, what gets your adrenaline going? For some it may be music for some it may be traveling, for me – it’s the cars. Millions of people worldwide will gladly spend all their spare time and their hard earned money on cars, either to purchase, modify, restore or even just to make them go that extra bit faster. For me seeing cars at a show, go fast around a track, slide sideways at a drifting event or jump high over brows of hill in a rally - is everything. This is car life and this why we do it every weekend over and over again; last weekend was no different.

Northern Ireland - better known as the little Japan of Europe.

It truly is, if one judges it by the sheer amount of the high quality Japanese domestic market (JDM) cars located on the Irish island; it is just mind blowing. Once you see past the diabolically modified twincams, vape-surrounded civics and Donegal rally spec’d IS200s, you’ll find thousands of incredible JDM machines here: tasteful Japanese metal from all generations: standard, modified or fully restored classics - we have them all, and it would be a goddamn shame if we wouldn't showcase them. Well, luckily for us there is just an event for this and it’s called – “JDM Car Culture”.

Performance sports cars have become more expensive, more sophisticated, complicated and confusing than ever before; take the BMW M4 CS for an example: for an equivalent of what used to be a simple middle class affordable BMW sports car (BMW M3), one nowadays would expect to pay up to a jaw dropping £90K. It is an overly complicated, manic, untameable animal, yet unexplainably outstanding car that somehow makes it worth it and I couldn’t recommend it highly enough. That is if you can afford it and have the balls to drive it.

"Sun, BBQ and loads of Germans" (cars that is) - this may be the simplest and easiest way to describe what the GTINI's "Castlewellan Show and Shine" event really represents. One of the longest running motoring events in Northern Ireland returned to the forests of Castlewellan on June 30, attracting German vehicle enthusiasts from far and wide, and I was there to cover the event as usual.

A guide to a perfect gentleman’s Sunday morning: wake up early, sneak out from the house, take a car to the Down Royal Racecourse, have a delicious morning coffee, enjoy a full fry breakfast and epic company, then have a proper drive on the way back. On Sunday, May 26 many glamorous “Italians” took over the streets of Lisburn in Northern Ireland, before setting down in Lagan Valley’s island for their annual Italian fest. Hosted by the Northern Ireland’s Italian Motor Club (NIIMC) this event was dedicated to all cars and motorcycles manufactured by the Mediterranean country.
