More than 50 topless Hondas from across the UK and Europe arrived in Northern Ireland over the weekend of September 18-20 to tackle some of the most scenic roads this island had to offer. This was the 11th Megameet the boys and girls from the UK Honda S2000 forum had organised, and the first one I've attended.
Honda S2000 was produced between 1999-2009. More than 110 thousand vehicles were sold worldwide, with USA dominating the figures. The 16-valve DOHC VTEC 2.0 litre engine produces nearly 250hp that are powered through the real wheels. The popularity of this Japanese two-seater sports roadster is enormous across the globe and there are many  aftermarket parts and modifications available allowing endless customization options of the vehicle.
There are many Honda meets/track days and shows throughout the year and I've made a lot of friends along the way, so I was determined to attend this event together with some of them.

As mentioned above, it was the 11th time the event had been held, and it was evident these boys knew the deal. From accurate road maps and pace notes to finest restaurants and coffee stops; we knew we were in for a treat.
We arrived at the Megameet HQ "Templepatrick Hilton Hotel" early on Saturday morning. For my surprise the car park was filled with cars from all over England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, whereas some traveled from further places like Belgium and Netherlands, which showed how popular the event actually was.
The owners gathered round for the welcome and briefing at 8:30AM - SHARP!
As the sun was fully operational (unusual for a local weather) everybody got their tops down and set off for the drive, stopping at various places to enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Well, not everybody had the chance to access these scenic places, if I am honest.... Some of the lower examples of the S2K, like Tim's had trouble getting access to some of them; however, everybody stayed very friendly and noone was left behind!

There was a huge variety of S2000s attending the event - from AP1 to AP2, from yellow to red, from stock to heavily modified. The two colours that stood out for me most were the marvellous red and the "smoking" pearlescent white - both of them looked magnificent in the morning sun.
Once back from the run we met up in the HQ and I finally had a chance to walk around the car park to look closer at some of the cars present.
And also catch up with our friends.
For me the favourite car of the event undoubtedly was Tim's S2000.
Would I ever attend another S2000 Megameet? Hell yes! In fact the next one is just round the corner in Scotland in April.
Thanks to all the people involved making the event possible. It was a really an enjoyable weekend with beautiful roads to drive, new people to meet and above all - an amazing S2000 driving experience!
